Your Dashboard Isn’t a Mouth Call Storage Tray!

Your Dashboard Isn’t a Mouth Call Storage Tray!

Right now, there’s a pretty good chance one of your favorite mouth calls is sitting in your truck’s center console, the glovebox, or worse—right on the dashboard.

We get it. You want it close by so you can practice on your morning commute. But if you leave a latex call exposed to summer truck heat, you're essentially putting it in a slow cooker. The heat stretches the latex, warps the frame, and melts the reeds together. Come next hunting season that call won't produce the same crisp sounds it did when it was new.

Since we build Longbranch calls to last, we want to make sure yours survive the summer.

Here is your 3-step Summer Rescue Plan:

  1. The Cool Down: Never leave your calls in the vehicle. Treat your premium calls like your hunting dog—if it's too hot for them to live in the truck, it's too hot for your turkey calls.
  2. The Rinse & Dry: Rinse your mouth calls in cold water to get the saliva off after using them, regardless if just a quick practice session or following a morning hunt. Pat them dry with a paper towel or napkin, and let them air dry completely before putting them away. Damp latex breeds bacteria and sticks together.
  3. The Toothpick Trick: Once dry, slide a flat toothpick gently between the reeds. This keeps them separated so the latex doesn't fuse into a single solid block over the off-season.

Keep them cool, keep them dry, and keep them separated. Your ears (and your wallet) will thank you this fall.
